The Appeal

Utilizing custom chassis components and taking inspiration from the ever-iconic Hummer, the Rhino Buggies Blizzard offers a truly unique kit vehicle experience. In many ways, the Blizzard doesn’t display the typical telltale “kit car” signs, instead standing out from the crowd as a high-quality, extreme terrain utility vehicle straight out of an action movie.

Believed to be the only example within the United Kingdom, this presents an incredibly rare opportunity to secure such a unique and interesting vehicle. The Blizzard’s head-turning styling, impressive performance and quirky nature offer great potential for a thoroughly enjoyable weekend toy, or even as a promotional tool for your business.
Now offered with MOT until 2024 and in excellent overall condition, this Rhino Buggies Blizzard is sure to impress, wherever it ventures.

The History and Paperwork

  • Just 1 former keeper
  • Imported in kit form, in 2005
  • First inspected and MOT’d in 2006
  • Includes excellent history and documentation
  • Comes ready to enjoy, with MOT until March 2024
Produced in kit form by Rhino Buggies in Australia, the parts for this Blizzard made their way to Leeds before being assembled for the vehicle’s first inspection & MOT in September 2006. The vehicle is then believed to have been dry stored until 2013 before seeing use, and then later acquired by the current keeper in August 2021. Throughout their ownership, the current keeper has ensured the vehicle remains in tip-top shape, being dry-stored, and savoured for the occasional outing.
Included with the vehicle is an impressive collection of paperwork detailing the original specification request, along with import documentation for the original build components. Also included, is the relevant DVLA, inspection and initial MOT test certification, along with invoices for parts & repairs, useful guides, and the current V5C document.

The Interior

  • Light turquoise upholstery, with carbon fibre detailing
  • Features a vast array of technology & gadgets, including:
    • OBX reclining bucket seats
    • A BM shifter
    • Evo dash display
    • LCD sunvisor screens
    • Sound system setup
    • Fighter-jet style controls
    • Solex locks & central locking
  • Presented in fantastic condition today
The cabin of the Blizzard is simply fantastic, offering a utilitarian interior adorned with fighter-jet style switches, Bond-esque gadgets, and plenty of tech to enjoy. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the vehicle’s vast dimensions, it’s also rather spacious inside, offering a welcome balance of both comfort and practicality.
As the images reflect, this example reflects its build specifications brilliantly, featuring the likes of optionally specified carbon-fibre dash inserts, and OBX racing seats. Having seen considerably few miles, these reclining bucket-style seats now show only light signs of wear and continue to offer much-needed bolster support, particularly when off-roading.
Carpeting throughout the interior also offers a rather tidy finish, with only light discolouration found underneath the black mats atop. Both door cards follow suit, showing an excellent finish, and playing host to a set of Fusion speakers. These two speakers pair with an amplifier and subwoofer setup in the rear and are expected to be in full working order, although yet to be used by the current keeper.
Facing forwards, you’re treated to more light turquoise trimming on the dashboard, along with carbon fibre detailing, and a bounty of controls, switches and instruments. Perhaps most notable, are an Evo dash display, fighter-jet style switches for lights and such, vital gauges, and controls for the electronic fold-out steps. Once again, all interior controls are believed to be in full working order, but may not have seen use in recent times to verify.
All in all, the interior is a truly pleasant space to enjoy the Blizzard’s performance & soundtrack from. With the exception of temporary repairs to the steering wheel and the occasional use-related blemish, the interior has also been very well preserved and stands in excellent condition today.

The Exterior

  • Hummer-inspired styling cues
  • Galvanised & seam welded body
  • Gloss black finish, in excellent condition
  • 15” Eagle alloys, with 38.5” Mickey Thompson tyres
No doubt taking its inspiration from military vehicles and of course, the Hummer, the short-wheelbase Blizzard holds a tremendous road presence, with a bold front end, enormous tyres, and subtly slanted roof line. With the exception of the Hummer, very few road-going vehicles offer such a rugged aesthetic, making this an ideal candidate for promotional or display purposes.
Although purpose-built to explore tough terrain with a focus on function, the Blizzard offers a brilliant display of exterior styling and high-quality craftsmanship. Featuring a galvanised and seam-welded body with pre-hung doors, the Blizzard presents itself closer to a production model than a “kit” vehicle, offering excellent panel gaps and great fitment.
Finished in gloss black, this example does the design proud, showcasing an excellent finish with plenty of shine, and only minor blemishes. These include slight bubbling to the roof rain gutter edging, and light chipping near fittings. That said, these light signs of age are only noticeable upon incredibly close inspection and hardly detract from the presence of such a mighty machine.
Accompanying the shiny paintwork and fresh Rhino decals, are the originally specified 15” Eagle alloy wheels, which also offer excellent finishes all around. These 10J wheels come wrapped in a matching set of 38.5” Mickey Thompson Baja Claw tyres, with plenty of tread left to enjoy.
Overall, this Blizzard stands in fantastic overall condition, offering a high-quality finish across the vehicle, with only incredibly minor blemishes to note. It is also worth noting that the vehicle’s underside also offers an excellent finish, with tidy black undercoating as far as the eye can see.

The Mechanics

  • 5.7L 350 Chevrolet V8
  • Automatic Turbo 400 transmission
  • High & low gears, with lockable hubs for four-wheel drive
  • Runs & drives brilliantly
  • Advisory-free MOT until 21 March 2024
Although the mean exterior styling no doubt captures the attention of onlookers wherever it ventures, the Blizzard isn’t just a pretty face. The buggy comes equipped with Chevrolet’s legendary small block 350 V8 and Turbo 400 automatic transmission, ensuring plenty of power and dependability. You’re also treated to four-wheel-drive with lockable hubs and high & low gear ratios, offering plenty of off-road potential.

Further aiding the vehicle’s off-road prowess, is a 2” Carrol leaf spring suspension lift, 2” urethane body lift, Series 500 Ranchero shock absorbers, and a Dirt Dawg steering dampener. The vehicle’s spec list also includes a BM shifter, Genie exhaust manifolds, and a 21/2” sports exhaust system, capable of emitting a magnificent V8 soundtrack.
Buyers will be pleased to know that the vehicle fires up and performs exactly as it should, with no known mechanical faults. This can no doubt be attributed to the low mileage covered and attentive maintenance, which includes the likes of a new alternator in November 2020. Whether you’ve got a show in mind, or fancy tackling some muddy terrain, this Blizzard is ready to impress, with plenty of MOT left to enjoy.

Summary

With off-road suspension, a small-block V8, four-wheel drive and more gadgets than you can count, the Blizzard is an incredibly capable utility vehicle. It’s also incredibly rare, with this very example believed to be the only one within the country. As such, it offers a fantastic opportunity for those on the search for a weekend off-roading toy, a unique showpiece, or even a new avenue for promotion or marketing.
Now presented in excellent overall condition, with plenty of documentation and MOT until 2024, this Rhino Buggies Blizzard SWB is more ready to be enjoyed by its next lucky owner.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
