The first RS hit the market in 1994, and quickly gained a prime reputation amongst any self-respecting petrolhead. RS stands for RennSport - Racing Sport - and has become synonymous with being a surprisingly practical super car. Shoot forward to 2006, and the RS4 exceeded its already globally-renowned expectations. Taking the revered - and incredibly charismatic - 4.2litre V8 FSI engine, dropping it into the much-loved B7 platform and linking it up to the revered Quattro drivetrain? It was a stroke of genius, and the new became something of a legend. A true modern classic? Undeniably so.
