The Appeal
Launched in 2003 the X350 Jaguar XJ was the company's third generation of the XJ. Totally re-designed and re-engineered the now all aluminium-bodied XJ was poised to drive the legendary British marque into the new millennium. In 2007 the X350 would have an interim facelift, now known as the X358 it came with revised exterior and interior styling.
Fitted with a twin-turbo 2.7L diesel and a smooth automatic gearbox this Sport Premium X358 has only had one owner from new and has a wealth of paperwork. Also, the car comes with a well-stamped service book.
The History and Paperwork
- First registered in June of 2007 this X358 has gone on to have a pampered life
- Looking in the leather-bound Jaguar book holder we can find the service book
- In the service book, there are 18 stamps
- There are so many stamps that they have had to use the back page of the service book
- A handwritten note on the back page states the timing belt was replaced in 2017 at 80,000 miles
- Along with the service book, there are also all of the car’s original handbooks/quick start guides
- There are two keys present with this car, and also a valet key
- Its MOT runs out in August 2024
- There are a lot of invoices within the car’s history folder
- From this, we can see that the car had a new water pump in 2019
- A new suspension arm in 2022
- A new alternator also in 2022
- It also had 2 new injectors and a DPF clean in March 2018
- As the car has always been with the same owner it has been looked after properly
- The car has recently found a new owner who couldn’t pass on this gem of a Jag
- There is still only one owner from new on the logbook though
The Interior
- Trimmed in black leather the interior is very luxurious
- The black leather is complimented nicely by some silver flashes
- Across all of the seats this leather is in great condition when you consider its age and mileage
- Both the front seats are electrically operated, with driver seat benefitting from a memory function
- The driver’s seat does have one lovely feature that aids getting in and out
- When you turn the ignition on the seat raises into its remembered position and the steering wheel lowers
- When getting out of the car the reverse happens, giving you more space to get in and out
- The interior also benefits from other great features
- In the centre of the dashboard is an infotainment display
- Comprising of a Sat Nav, Radio functions, and telephone connectivity this 2007 Jaguar still feels modern
- You can either control these features from the screen or the array of steering wheel controls
- Below this screen, you’ll find the controls for the dual-zone air conditioning
- The car was photographed on a warm day, so this air conditioning was put to the test
- It performed very well, blowing very cold air around the cabin
- In the rear, your passengers will love the comfortable leather bench seat
- If you’re only carrying two rear passengers, they can lower the centre armrest
- With two cup holders and lots of storage space, this is a practical layout for the rear passengers
- The headliner is in good condition throughout, with only two minor areas around the rear grab handles that are slightly sagging
- At the rear of the car is a large boot with ample space for weekend bags
- Under the boot floor, you’ll find the spare wheel and jack
- Overall, the interior of this Jaguar XJ is in very good condition

The Exterior
- The X358 underwent some exterior design changes over the older X350
- There was a new lower grille, aesthetic side air vents, and a boot lid spoiler to name a few changes
- These visual changes gave the X358 a sportier and more purposeful look
- Sitting resplendent in the September sun this X358 is in lovely exterior condition
- Its deep black paint complements its subtle silver 20-inch BBS alloys well
- These BBS alloys all appear to be in great condition
- Up front, there is some slight fogging to the lights, but a machine polish may bring these back to life
- The rear lights are in great condition with no cracks or fogging to these lenses
- To aid in parking this Jaguar you’ll notice parking sensors on the front and rear bumpers
- These came in handy whilst manoeuvring the car around in the locations
- Dotted around the exterior are some chrome silver accents all of these pop in the sun
- Overall, the exterior of this XJ is in lovely condition and just waiting to join your driveway
The Mechanics
- Under the bonnet of this XJ, you’ll find a torquey diesel engine
- The 2.7L twin-turbo V6 puts out 435 Nm of torque low down in the rev range
- This torque is fed through an automatic gearbox and sent to the rear wheels
- On the day of the photoshoot, the car performed perfectly
- Turning on several times to manoeuvre around the car park it never once skipped a beat
- The engine has been looked after properly, this is backed up by its plethora of service stamps
- As mentioned previously the timing belt was replaced in 2017 at 80,000 miles
- This is a perfect car to take on those long motorway journeys
- Its smooth automatic gearbox makes any drive a pleasure
- To make those long drives even easier the car is fitted with cruise control
- The MOT runs until August 2024
- This Jaguar appears to be in fine working order and just waiting for you to get behind the wheel
