When Jaguar came to replace the original XK8, which was loosely based on the old XJS, it came up with a thoroughly more modern successor.
The second generation of the XK (the X150) debuted at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show, styled by Jaguar's chief designer Ian Callum. The X150's grille was designed to recall the shape of the 1961 E-Type’s, to drive home the legendary DNA.
The new model also featured a bonded and riveted aluminium chassis, shared with the XJ, and alloy body panels. Inside, wood was no longer standard as Jaguar targeted a younger demographic, while the cabin was simple and unfussy. A new era of Jaguar for a new era of customer. It was also an innovator – the first car in the world to feature under-bonnet airbags, which would automatically lift the bonnet up in the event of a pedestrian impact. A great way of getting around new pedestrian protection legislation without having to ruin the sleek styling.
This example is a stunning Coupé model in striking Liquid Silver Pearlescent paintwork, with a record of careful maintenance and regular servicing. It’s presented in superb overall condition and really stands out as one of the best examples of its age on the market.

SUMMARY
This is a really lovely example of the 4.2-litre normally aspirated XK Coupe, and it looks extremely bright and fresh in Liquid Silver. It’s an immaculately presented example, with a good history and no known issues.
It’s a wonderful car to look at and is even better to drive – a proper modern classic with the cachet of the Jaguar badge and to-die-for styling, which would have set its original owner back over £60,000 when new. It still looks the part 16 years on.
