The Appeal
Grand tourers do not get much grander than Mercedes’ CL-Class. The second-generation C215, like the first, was based on the firm’s sumptuous, smooth-riding and technologically advanced S-Class saloon. With its sleek pillarless style, it is arguably the prettiest of the CL models and a firm candidate for future classic status.
This Obsidian Black 2004 car is one of the last C215s to have been registered in the UK. It was factory-built in 2004 and has covered a mere 15,200 miles in its life. Much of that was spent with a collector before it joined the seller’s family.
The car is said to be factory-standard except for a set of purposeful Mecxtreme 20in alloys. The condition is impressive for a car built 26 years ago, just a few light cosmetic points to note in photos. A usefully long MOT adds further transparency for buyers.
The vendor says:
“The car is a pleasure to drive, and the air suspension feels great on the roads.”
