The Appeal
When the E63 hit the market in 2003, it immediately captured everything the world wanted in a BMW tourer - even if that controversial flame styling took a while to bed in, there was no denying the car's balance of performance and capability. Today, those styling points are exactly why this generation is so often regarded as a hidden gem.
Of course, for those seeking something beyond the pale, eyes were quickly falling on BMW-tuning Alumni, Alpina, to see what they could get out of the 6 Series. They got their answer in 2005 with the Alpina B6 - and their offering became even more tantalising with the B6 S.
This performance variant of the Alpina B6 was introduced in 2008, and managed to ease even more horsepower out of the car by tweaking the valve timing on the intake and exhaust, along with installing a new compressor in the supercharger. The B6 S was capable of 523hp and an utterly blistering top speed of 198mph. Naturally, that was an irresistible prospect for anybody seeking a bit of adrenaline on the road.
Being a Japanese import, where roads aren't gritted with salt and where the weather is far less temperamental than the British climate, this car comes to us in excellent order, with many of its components appearing "as new". Of particular highlight is a remarkably clean underside, something most British-based Beamers can only dream of.
This fine tourer boasts a low mileage of just 35,500 miles and has been meticulously maintained with a full BMW Main Dealer service history. With only a handful of these ever seen in the UK, this is an incredible opportunity, and we're sure it'll attract plenty of attention. Alpina B6 (228 of 232) Large.jpeg412.69 KB
