The Appeal
How do you best the best? This was the problem faced by BMW after 20 years of M5 production. The answer was the S85 V10 engine. Specially developed for the E60 M5, this 500bhp powerhouse was an absolute blast.
The headline figure of 507bhp doesn’t do full justice to the visceral delivery of this free-revving unit. Together with some clever technology, including a range of gearbox settings, the E60 M5 is a very different sort of M-car. It is widely recognised as one of the best and seems nailed on as a future super saloon classic.
With so much innovation on show, when you buy one you want the reassurance of impeccable maintenance and condition. Low mileage is also very desirable.
This 2008 M5 has all that plus a particularly desirable Sapphire Black over Silverstone leather specification. It has been looked after during its life by BMW and more recently S85 specialists Ultimate Velocity. The last service was just 100 miles ago.
The condition shines out of the photographs. The joy of these cars is that they can be enjoyed now but are modern classics in the making.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.
Auto-bidding increments
- If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
- If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
