The Appeal
The 997.1 Turbo was the first and the last - the first water-cooled 911 to return the classic round headlamp aesthetics with a classic-style dashboard, and the last to feature the GT1 Le Mans-derived Mezger flat six. These cars, with their hydraulic steering, are rated for the analogue feel and, of course, the brutal performance of that twin-turbo motor and the surefooted AWD drivetrain.
These cars are so good to drive that it is a surprise to find one as sparingly used as this 2008 car. It shows just 53,000 miles from new and is said to come with extensive Porsche service history. The result of the limited use is well kept silver paintwork and tidy, unmodified blue leather cabin that retains its PCM unit. Often these cars pass quickly between owners, but this one has had just three keepers from new.
A lengthy, advisory-free MOT adds further reassurance. A very tidy and nicely specified Tiptronic S Turbo.
