The Appeal
Taking the Harley-Davidson Dyna Street Bob as a starting point for custom builds is a well-travelled path, and with good reason when you consider its factory style and engineering. Yet even among those many modified examples, this one stands out. It is known as the Roland Sands Shumavan No. 1 and was built by respected custom outfit Kubajz Garage using RSD parts.
Professionally built by Jakub Sluka at Kubajz Garage and completed in April 2016, this machine was sourced from Harley-Davidson Praha and transformed into a competition-standard custom motorcycle. It’s a mark of the quality that on completion, it took first place at the Prague Harley Days 2016 Custom Show, and it has since been featured in several automotive publications.
The 103 C.I. (1,690cc) air-cooled V-Twin is paired with a six-speed gearbox and a Performance Machine hydraulic clutch conversion. Roland Sands Design components feature throughout, including suspension, brakes, a carbon fibre high-flow intake, and a full control suite with Traction grips and Avenger adjustable levers. The custom 'Martini Racing' airbrush livery by Petr Šulc, designed in the 'Mountains' performance style, gives the bike a striking visual identity. The vendor states the paintwork remains in excellent condition and reports no known mechanical faults.
With its Czech technical passport valid until July 2026 and a well-documented history, this is a rare opportunity to acquire a recognised, award-winning custom Harley-Davidson that was built to be ridden as well as displayed.
The vendor says:
“The Roland Sands SHUMAVAN No. 1 is a rare opportunity to own a piece of custom motorcycle history. It is a masterclass in "Mountains Style" performance, blending raw American V-Twin power with elite European-inspired design.
"The Ride Experience: Thanks to the 103 C.I. engine and RSD performance suspension, this isn't just a "show pony"—it’s built to be ridden hard. The hydraulic clutch and 6-speed gearbox make for a modern, tactile, and incredibly responsive ride that far exceeds the capabilities of a standard Dyna.
"What Makes it Special: The most striking feature is its uncompromising quality. From the Martini Racing livery to the precision-machined Performance Machine belt drive, every inch of this bike was built by professionals to win competitions—which it did. What we love is that: It offers the perfect balance of exclusivity and performance. It’s a head-turner at any show, yet it possesses the mechanical pedigree of a serious performance machine. It’s a bold, aggressive, and perfectly executed tribute to the Roland Sands legacy.”
