2009 Range Rover Sport HSE TDV6 Command Shift

HIGHLIGHTS

• 4 x 4 with a touch of luxury
• Original condition
• Good history
• Well presented

THE APPEAL

Range Rover Sports are a lovely well specced 4 x 4, and are right up there with some of the most luxurious 4 x 4’s of their time.

This particular model is the Command shift facelift model, and if you are not sure what Command Shift is, it gives you the option of changing gear with the steering wheel mounted paddle shift controls.

The colour is probably the most striking thing you first notice about this vehicle, and that's before stepping inside to the full leather seats and even a heated steering wheel.

The Range Rover is one of those vehicles with the looks, comfort, and performance rolled into the perfect 4 x 4.

THE HISTORY AND PAPERWORK

• V5 is present
• Registered on the 11th September, 2009
• Invoices for servicing and parts used over the years
• Handbooks present
• Three previous keepers
The seller of this 2009 Range Rover Sport is a dealer who specialises in modern classics and luxury vehicles.

He came by this Range Rover Sport from an existing customer he has dealt with since 2016. The returning customer put the Range Rover in part exchange against another classic.

The seller has replaced the air suspension pump three months ago and has used the vehicle for a family trip to Cornwall, where it didn’t miss a beat.

THE INTERIOR

• Original interior
• Cream leather
• Reversing camera
• Harman/Kardon speakers
• Everything is reported to work as it should
The inside of the Range Rover Sport is a nice place to be, with comfortable cream leather upholstery and electric everything all within an arm's length.

The electric seats are working as they should. There is some age related wear to the leather of the front seats, mainly the driver’s side, as you would usually find, but this is in keeping with the age and mileage of the vehicle.

When you open the door, there is some wear to point out on the edge of the sill, which has been caused by getting in and out of the 2009 4 x 4. The door cards both in the front and rear appear to be free from any noticeable scuffs. The rear seat looks to be in good condition with no excessive wear.
Sitting in the driver’s seat, the steering wheel is in good condition, with just some light shining on the leather. The multifunction buttons are all reported to be working and have no excessive wear.

The display is clear and bright, with no warning lights displayed when the engine is running, and the odometer shows a reading of 127,137 miles. Across the dash is the main screen display for the media and controls, and down below the controls for the heaters, all of which are in good order.

The gear knob has some light scuffs to the top, and further back again is the controls for when you go off-roading.
The carpets are in good order with no real wear but may benefit from a full valet to bring them back to their best. The headlining is in good order with no sagging.

The jack is in place in the boot area, covered with the carpeted floor and load liner to protect it. The pull out roller shelf is in good condition and extends and retracts as it should.

THE EXTERIOR

• Stunning Bali Blue colour
• Original condition
• Refurbished wheels
• Rear parking sensors
Finished in the beautiful Bali Blue, this 2009 Range Rover Sport certainly stands out from the crowd.

Starting with the front of the vehicle, there are some age-related stone chips to see. The bonnet looks to align as it should, and the light lenses are in good order with no splits or cracks. Moving up, the windscreen is also free from any chips.
Around to the sides of the Range Rover, there are no dings to mention when looking down the vehicle.

There are some small chips and light scratches, which may polish out with a machine polisher, but that would be for your local detailer to decide. The plastic trims at the bottom of the doors are in good condition with no scuffs, and the sill steps are also in good order.

The chrome capped door mirrors retract as they should and adjust when going into reverse. The windows are free from any excessive scratches, and the seals look to be in good order.

For security, the quarter sections of the boot area have been tinted, which show no signs of any issues.
At the rear, there are some small scuffs and chips to the edge of the bumper. The boot lid is in good condition, opening either as a full boot or just the upper glass section, which is also tinted.
The wheels have been refurbished and are in excellent condition with no scuffs to be seen. They are missing the centre caps, but these are readily available online from several suppliers. The tyres are in good condition with a good amount of tread remaining.

THE MECHANICS

• 3.0 litre V6 TDI
• Good history
• Command Shift / Automatic
• New air suspension pump
Fitted with the 3.0 litre TDV6, the Range Rover is a nice machine to drive, and being the sport model, it sits that little bit lower and so goes around corners that little bit better than the standard height Range Rover.

The car starts up as it should, with no untoward noises coming from the engine.

The gear change, as mentioned, is Command Shift which operates like a conventional automatic, or you can change gear with the paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel.

Either way, the seller reports the change to be smooth, and the vehicle pulls well through all of the gears.
The suspension has had a new air pump fitted three months ago, so there are no issues with selecting different suspension settings. No noises are reported to come from either corner, and the Range Rover comes to a halt in a straight line with no juddering through the pedal.

SUMMARY

A nice original condition 2009 Range Rover Sport HSE TDV6 Command Shift, which is the facelift model and in the striking Bali Blue colour, which looks fantastic.

The car comes with a good history which can be seen in the paperwork.

Recent wheel refurbishment means these are looking their best, and everything inside is reported to be working as it should.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
