The Appeal
The successor to the 3 Series Compact, BMW’s 1 Series arrived in 2004 with the aim of bringing an entry-level, subcompact model to the executive car market. An impressive success story, it was praised in particular for its agile handling and distinctive styling. The first generation was offered in a variety of body styles, including the fully electric convertible, and eventually spawned the highly regarded 1M.
M Sport cars, such as this, are fitted with BMW's advanced engineering suspension package, providing a stiffer, lowered sports suspension that sharpens cornering compared to the standard setup. The bodywork boasts sportier front and rear bumpers, including driving lights, plus side skirt styling. Alloys are elegant 17" twin spokes. Window surrounds feature high-gloss Shadowline trim. Inside, the M Sport seats are more supportive for fast cornering. It also features a chunkier, leather-wrapped M Sport multi-function steering wheel, leather M Sport gear knob and matching sill trim kick-plates
Thanks to their popularity when new, well-spec’d 1 Series models have continued to hold their value remarkably well and this example is no exception. Finished in stunning ‘Le Mans’ Metallic Blue paintwork and paired with striking ‘Boston Lemon’ upholstery, it has a distinctive and sophisticated presence, while the M Sport specification gives the vehicle a purposeful and planted stance
