The Appeal

First produced in 2004 and named after Sergio Scaglietti, the renowned Modenese coachbuilder who was responsible for so many of the most iconic Ferraris of the 50s and 60s, the 612 is a 2+2 grand tourer in the finest Ferrari tradition.
Following its revision in 2008, Ferrari began to offer the 612 as a “One to One” model. Effectively this meant that owners could travel to Italy and use Ferrari’s Atelier service to personalise and special order their car. Additionally, all “One to One” 612s benefit from the later, and more desirable, twin-clutch F1A transmission, which offers 100ms shift times.
This example has been exceptionally well specified, with subtle but striking paintwork and a beautifully appointed interior. Combined with low indicated mileage and that epic V12, there’s much to recommend here.

The History and Paperwork

  • 2010 “One to One” model
  • TUV certificate just under 1 year old
  • Just 75,733Km indicated
  • Trickle charger included
  • Complete with Ferrari branded seat and steering wheel dust covers for storage

The Interior

  • 2+2 layout with deep red leather upholstery
  • Electrochromic panoramic roof
  • Dual zone air conditioning / climate control
  • Automatic headlights and daytime running lights
  • Electric windows and door mirrors
  • Electrically operated seats with three-memory function
  • Tyre pressure monitoring system
  • Parking sensors
  • Touch screen system with radio, CD, phone connection and navigation
  • Fire extinguisher mounted in the passenger footwell
Trimmed with gorgeous deep red leather, the cabin of this 612 is, quite frankly, stunning. With diamond stitching to the door cards and seats, complemented by carbon dashboard trim and smart metal detailing to the switchgear, it all feels very upmarket.
It presents very well too, with the upholstery appearing to be in superb condition for the age of the car, with little evidence of wear and no damage we could discern. Similarly, the deep red carpets look in fine condition, with no signs of staining, threading or exceptional wear.
Adding to the sense of occasion in the cabin is the lovely electrochromic panoramic roof, which offers three tint levels, so you can always keep the light and heat levels in the cabin just so.
With more space than you’d imagine and a truly cosseting ride, the 612 amply qualifies as a true grand tourer. In fact, we can’t think of many cabin environments which would be better suited to a spot of touring, wherever that may be.

The Exterior

  • Grigio Silverstone Fer. 740 paintwork
  • Aluminium chassis and bodyshell
  • Optional ‘Challenge’ alloys
Resplendent in ‘Grigio Silverstone’ paintwork (dark grey metallic, in other words), the aluminium bodied 612 is a handsomely styled vehicle. That classic long bonnet and cab-back stance is perfect “grand tourer”, and makes the car appear rapidly dynamic even when parked.
The paintwork and bodywork look to be in very good order, with no major blemishes we could see, and certainly no corrosion or damage apparent. Likewise, the external trim pieces, badging, glass and light elements look well, with no cracks, damage or misting that we could see.
This car is also riding on the optional 20-inch ‘Challenge’ alloys, which are finished in a dark silver and appear to be in good order, with no kerbing or lacquer peel we could identify.

The Mechanics

  • 5,748cc V12
  • F1A six-speed transmission
  • ABS, power steering and traction control
  • Manettino with three modes
Producing a whopping 532bhp and 588Nm, the V12 of the 612 offers quite stellar performance. In fact, the 0-100km/h run is dispatched in just four seconds, as it stretches its legs to reach a mighty 320km/h.
All of that oomph is bridled by a number of active systems, including the updated double-clutch F1A transmission which, along with the limited slip differential, is rear-mounted for better weight distribution. With the LSD set to 25% for acceleration and 45% on deceleration, it means the car offers a fine balance between agility and stability. Perfect for a grand tourer.
For when you need to slow proceedings down a little, mighty ceramic Brembo brakes are fitted (15” at the front and 14.2” at the back), which make short work of hauling this suave coupé to a halt.

Summary

If the Italian Job were being remade today, we like to think that Matt Monro’s “On Days Like These” would be echoing from the open windows of a 612 Scaglietti. As V12 Ferraris go, it’s a subtle, cleanly styled and deeply practical grand tourer. The fact that it also features a howling V12 with the power and fury of Zeus in a bad mood is quite the bonus.
In case it isn’t already clear, we adore this car. We think the specification is spot-on and it’s clearly been very nicely kept, as it presents in excellent condition. For anyone looking for a sophisticated, generously specified and deeply capable 2+2, then look no further.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
€0 to €9,999 €100.00
€10,000 to €49,999 €250.00
€50,000 to €99,999 €500.00
€100,000 + €1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
