2010 Jaguar XKR Coupé

HIGHLIGHTS

  • 41,000 miles from new
  • Comprehensive history
  • Excellent overall condition
  • 503bhp

THE APPEAL

The second generation of the XK (the X150) debuted at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show, styled by Jaguar's chief designer Ian Callum, with a grille designed to recall the shape of that of the 1961 E-Type, to drive home the fact it was a muscular sports car.

The new model also featured a bonded and riveted aluminium chassis, shared with the XJ, and alloy body panels.

The XK received a facelift in 2009 with minor alterations to front and rear lights and bumper designs, together with the introduction of a new 5.0-litre V8 for both the naturally aspirated XK and the supercharged XKR.

This one is ta facelift car and is the full-fat real deal – a 503bhp supercharged 5.0-litre V8 XKR Coupe, in one of the best colours. It’s a sensational thing.

THE HISTORY AND PAPERWORK

  • Two keys
  • UK V5C
  • MOT July 2023
  • Invoices for regular servicing
  • Service book stamped to 37,775 miles
  • Full book pack and owner’s wallet

THE INTERIOR

  • Magnolia leather upholstery
  • Hand-stitched leather dashboard trim
  • Infotainment system with sat nav
  • R-branded alloy trim
  • Spotless condition

The XK’s cabin is in near-perfect order with no damage or notable deterioration. The touch screen infotainment system and sat nav are in good working order, as is the rotary gear control, while the premium Bowers and Wilkins stereo delivers fabulous sound quality.

It’s a very highly specced car, with optional alloy-effect inserts to the dash and multi-adjustable electric front seats.

The driving position is fabulous – you sit low in the cabin, in a snug-fitting sports seat, a subtle ‘Supercharged’ logo in the middle of the rev counter the only clue as to the sporting potential beneath the opulent luxury.

This is a very special car indeed, and it was a very expensive one when new.

THE EXTERIOR

  • Rare Kyanite Blue Pearlescent
  • ‘R’-Pack body kit
  • Beautiful condition
  • Superb alloys and Dunlop tyres

This is an absolutely fantastic looking car from every angle, partly due to Ian Callum’s styling genius but also because of its remarkable condition.

The bodywork is superb, with no dents or marks of any note and a deep, glossy shine. It’s clearly a car that has been well looked after. It also features a Jaguar R-Pack body kit, giving it even more prowess.

The wheels are all in excellent condition with no kerb marks and it is shod with good Dunlop SP Sportmaxx tyres all round, suggesting a high level of maintenance.

THE MECHANICS

  • 5.0-litre  supercharged V8
  • Six-speed automatic
  • Starts and runs well
  • Well-maintained
  • 503bhp and 180mph!

The 5.0-litre V8 in the XK R is a magnificent thing, and it sounds absolutely terrific when you push the starter button. The exhaust has a deep and guttural rumble, a promise of the 503bp on offer.

It’s a unit that delivers startling acceleration – 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds and a top speed said to be around 180mph, accompanied by an addictive induction shriek from the supercharger – a truly unique and intoxicating mix.

The service history and regular maintenance this car has seen should mean it’s good for many more miles to come, especially given its modest mileage.

There’s no excess smoke and all of the fluids are at the correct levels.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
