The Appeal

Where the C55 is a cruiser, the C63 definitely, absolutely categorically isn’t. With its brutal 6.2L M156 V8 at its heart, the first engine designed and developed by AMG, this hooligan of a saloon was built specifically to best the M3. In speed, charisma and DTM-inspired soundtrack, it certainly did.

This Diamond White car is a facelift model, so is fitted with a much-improved AMG Speedshift MCT gearbox, which transforms the car by being quicker and more responsive than the old unit. It has been remapped too, now running 557bhp courtesy of MSL Performance in Birmingham. That’s a hefty hike over the standard car’s 451bhp.

For a 14-year-old car, it presents well, with a two-tone red-and-black interior. A few cosmetic points are worth noting in the photos. The vendor bought the car in January 2024, at which point we are told it received a full check over by the supplying dealer. Since then it has covered only 5,000 miles but has been serviced regularly. The clutch and subframe were replaced 700 miles ago earlier this year and four new Michelin tyres were fitted in October 2025. There are also invoices in the history fle indicating significant work to the gearbox in late 2023.

The current MOT runs to late June 2027 with a single advisory for a loud exhaust, but then it wouldn’t be a C63 without that, would it?

The vendor says:

“It’s quite jumpy, as they are known to get smoother as the car warms up. Love the sound of the car, as everyone does; main reason everyone buys one - a cold start on one sells the car, and they don’t make cars like it anymore.”
