The Appeal
The X351-generation Jaguar XJ is a keystone car, sitting proudly as the final iteration of Jaguar's traditional luxury saloon formula before they began a shift towards SUVs and electrification. In that sense, it could be regarded as the last of the 'true Jaguar' - the last of a dying breed. High luxury, an executive character and a 385bhp 5.0-litre V8 makes it well-worthy of the fanfare, too.
If there was any Jaguar to get, of course, it's time to consider a Japanese import. Japan is well known for its fastidious service schedules, high quality roads and, of course, no road salt. The result is that these cars are solid, well-kept and often far more long-lived than their Western counterparts.
This particular car is exactly that. Imported to the UK in October 2025, it has been properly registered on UK plates with all VAT and import duties paid, and has been subject to a comprehensive service, completed in January 2026 at a cost of £2,128, which included replacement of the nearside front damper, all oils, fluids, lubricants, spark plugs and filters - while the infotainment has already been reprogrammed for UK road use.
With a current MOT valid to November 2026 and all the benefits of recent recommissioning work completed, this XJ is ready to provide its next keeper with the combination of luxury car comfort and sports car responsiveness that made this generation so highly regarded.Jaguar_1_exterior_019 Tom Davis.jpg3.93 MB
