A front-engined, rear-wheel-drive V8 grand tourer with a hand-built heart, the Mercedes-AMG GT S is widely regarded as a spiritual successor to the SLS AMG and a modern interpretation of the classic long-bonnet Mercedes sports car formula that began with the 300 SL. This 2015 GT S Premium presents an intriguing proposition. Showing just 13,660 miles from new, it has been treated to a Stage 1 ECU remap and calibration by GAD Tuning, described by the vendor as one of the most respected Mercedes-Benz tuning specialists in the UK. The upgrade is software-only, with the engine remaining mechanically standard, and the vendor assures us that power delivery remains smooth and progressive, with OEM drivability retained throughout.
