The Appeal
When Global Tuk Tuk (GTT) of Holland decided to build tuk tuks, it had the European market firmly in mind. The firm evolved the iconic Asian three-wheeler into something larger and more powerful to suit commercial and a few personal buyer requirements. Naturally, they called it Icon.
Each Icon was based on a Daihatsu motorcycle and used the firm’s powerful 659cc engine that was good for a heady 55mph top speed. This one was built in 2016 and first registered in the UK in the same year. It has had just two keepers, the current one since 2018, and covered only 3,700 miles.
The current keeper has used it for weddings, a role that is clear when you check the photos. Appropriately finished in white with some neat detailing to the roof, chromework and interior, it features a wide rear three-seat bench with acres of rear legroom on a carpeted floor. There are flowers to the roof and even holders for a bottle of champagne and two glasses in the back.
As you might expect of a commercial wedding vehicle, it is in very good condition and has been maintained well. There are invoices for annual servicing - irrespective of mileage - right up to May 2024. It has covered less than 500 miles since the last attention.
The long, advisory-free MOT until October 2025 underlines the sense of a well-maintained, highly presented vehicle that will certainly stand out in the competitive wedding car landscape.
The vendor says:
“It's a great fun, unique, vehicle to drive, it has great potential for a business opportunity. We have loved doing weddings on it, and seeing the look on peoples faces - and it's now time for someone else to enjoy it.”
