2016 Mclaren 570GT

HIGHLIGHTS

・Road and track supercar
・Desirable colour combination
・Very low mileage
・Full McLaren service history

THE BACKGROUND

The 570GT is a subtle variant of the 570S, but represents McLaren’s first real departure from the manufacture of out-and-out supercars to a brave new softer and quieter McLaren pitched as a touring car.

The springs are softer by some 15% at the front and 10% at the rear. The steering is slightly slower and the side-hinged rear hatch offers useful luggage space. There is additional sound deadening, a central storage bin and even a cup holder!.
Despite these subtle changes, some consider the 570GT to still possess many of the sensations of the original MP4-12C. beneath the beautifully styled body, the fire-breathing V8 mid-engined power plant is extremely quick, and unlike many turbocharged cars, the power builds smoothly as the revs build.

The chassis is considered superb and undeniably the performance is great on the track, and with it’s factory spec. Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tyres also grips well on dry B roads.

THE HISTORY

The current owner purchased this beautiful 570GT from McLaren Ascot after retiring. It was first registered on 15th July 2016 by McLaren Ascot as a demonstration car. The current owner then registered it as a personal vehicle and in January 2021 re-registered it as a company vehicle.
The intention was always to travel around Europe, but apart from one trip to Le Mans and some local use it has mainly been sitting in the garage.

Despite this, any maintenance requirements have been diligently attended to. There were problems with the trickle charger and radio which were both replaced in 2020, and the IRIS Infotainment system software received an update by McLaren.
Reassuringly, the owner tells us that this McLaren has never been used for track days or indeed driven too hard.

THE PAPERWORK

The V5 is present and comes with a copy of the original McLaren order and the current MOT certificate, which expires on the 29th September 2021. The car is currently on Sorn.
The original hand book, IRIS user guide and Service Warranty books are in the front boot along with all the service history from McLaren, Ascot, since it’s date of purchase, and more recent paperwork from McLaren, New Forest.

THE INTERIOR

The gorgeous interior trim - by McLaren Design (and the co-ordinated rear zone) in Nappa leather is certainly a luxurious place to be. It also feels light and airy no doubt helped by the roof window. There are some signs of light use, but no obvious damage or wear and the leather still smells new.

The true Supercar body-hugging electric seats and driving position feels great. The carpets may benefit from a clean.
The electronic dash display and IRIS infotainment systems are said to be functioning correctly, and between the seats, the console for the engine start/stop button, etc. appears in very good condition along with all the other switches. Bowers & Wilkins sound equipment features.
In addition, this 570GT comes with that all important tracking system, a protective car cover, and safety equipment in the form of a warning triangle, first aid kit and fire extinguisher.

THE EXTERIOR

The imposing, yet understated compact body of the 570GT is enormously appealing. The special ‘Onyx Black’ paint certainly suits it’s flowing lines and indeed looks to be in very good condition without any obvious dents, dings or major scratches. The exterior mirrors, lights, etc. all appear good. The great looking doors open effortlessly.
There are one or two very small stone chips near ground level but McLaren have applied a lower body paint protection from the factory which should help in the future. The underside appears clean, but being so low it is fairly difficult to accurately judge.
The original silver wheels, with a couple of very minor scuffs, and the Pirelli tyres, look fine and in accordance with the low mileage.

THE MECHANICS

The current owner tells us that there are no known mechanical issues as you would hope from such a low mileage example, and as mentioned above, a few early teething problems have now been rectified by McLaren.
The 562bhp 3.8 litre twin turbo V8 Sounds great on start up and the 0-62 time of around 3.4 seconds and a maximum speed of around 204 mph should excite the senses. The owner assures us that the 7-speed paddle gears operate smoothly and the original brakes still have great stopping power.

The 570GT also has the famous front lift system.

THE APPEAL

Even in the 570GT’s slightly softer form, this comfort-focussed very low mileage example should be a fantastic drive and feel as fast as it sounds. This model has it all - great road and track manners and grand touring capabilities.
Summing up, the current owner of this wonderful looking 570GT says the car feels very agile on the road and “In it’s unique colour combination, it’s a head turner” - Automotive fine art indeed!

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
