2022 Westfield X1

Highlights

 • Very rare kit car
 • Prepared by Great British Sports Cars
 • Excellent condition
 • Just 500 miles covered since being built

The Appeal

The Westfield X1 or “Eleven” comes from humble beginnings in 1989 as a replica of the ever-popular Le Mans Lotus Eleven.

In 2004, the replica kit car project was launched once again and is still produced to order in batches of five to this day.

In keeping with the original replica’s spirit, the kit utilizes components from the MG Midget, such as the A-series engine, and pairs them with a lightweight body.
The Westfield X1 is seldom seen in the wild, save only for rare occasions on par with unicorn sightings, but never fails to turn heads. It’s not just a pretty face either, packing a mightily impressive power-to-weight ratio and being built with one purpose in mind; providing the ultimate driving experience.
If you’re looking for a truly unique weekend or track toy, this X1 has to be at the very top of your list.

The History and Paperwork

 • IVA certified January 2022
 • Finished and prepared by Great British Sports Cars
 • Only covered 500 miles since build completion
 • Includes assembly photos
 • V5C document present
As this wicked kit car was only IVA certified earlier this year on the 17th of January, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more recently completed example.

This X1 was purchased as a partially built kit, then sent to the highly regarded specialists over at Great British Sports Cars to be completed and prepared for IVA.
Although the speedometer will display miles from the original engine, the X1 has only covered around 500 miles since the build was completed.

Despite covering so few miles, the car has been treasured by the current keeper and has been thoroughly enjoyed along the way. It is only due to lack of space that this X1 is now looking for a new home.
The car comes with a fantastic collection of paperwork, which includes the V5C document, registration letter, and a folder full of invoices for parts and labour for the build.

Notable invoices show evidence of the original MG donor vehicle, along with the finishing work by Great British Sports Cars. Also included is a fantastic collection of photographs taken at the beginning of the build, before being acquired by the current keeper and finished professionally.

The Interior

 • Eye-catching red upholstery
 • Excellent condition
 • TRS harnesses
 • Minimal and driver-focused
Don’t let the flashy red upholstery fool you, this car was developed to be an ultimate driver’s car and certainly isn’t just for show.

The TRS harnesses hold you in place around the bends, leaving you to focus solely on the steering wheel and road ahead of you.
The interior is of course in superb condition and looks absolutely spectacular against the olive green paintwork. Both seats show no signs of use, with the carpets, door cards, and dashboard following closely behind.
As the vehicle utilizes parts from the donor vehicle, MG owners will instantly recognize the iconic Smiths dials and driver controls. All of which, are in excellent condition and help provide a touch of character to the otherwise new interior.

The Exterior

 • Retro Lotus Eleven Le Mans styling
 • Excellent condition
 • Gorgeous contrasting colours
 • A real head turner
When you first hear “kit-car” you may initially picture something a little more subdued and commonplace, not a fantastic Lotus Eleven replica! It truly is a beautifully made kit, with all sections and components fitting together superbly.
This X1 presents itself beautifully having been expertly finished in Olive Green by Great British Sports Cars. The colour suits the elegant lines perfectly and pairs brilliantly with the red interior.
As the car is inspired by a purpose-built racecar, the exterior is left rather streamlined with only minimal details and aero-friendly lighting. All details and lights are of course in excellent condition, as are all 4 Minilite-inspired wheels.
Overall, this Westfield X1 is in superb condition and is guaranteed to attract the attention of keen onlookers wherever it ventures.

The Mechanics

 • 1098cc A-Series engine
 • Manual gearbox
 • Drives flawlessly
 • Excellent power-weight ratio
 • Only built less than 500 miles ago
The X1 follows Lotus’ philosophy of “simplify, then add lightness”, providing drivers with an engaging driving experience that utilizes the car’s excellent power to weight ratio. It is a vehicle that is more than at home on the track or a curvy B road.
Buyers will be happy to hear that this Westfield performs exactly as intended, and benefits from being professionally finished during the final stages of the build process. Having covered around 500 miles since the completion of the build, the car of course has no mechanical or electrical issues to report.

Summary

This Westfield X1 is a brilliant vehicle, made as a replica of the Lotus Eleven Le Mans car, with the intention of providing drivers with a truly engaging experience. This particular example is in spectacular condition, having only been built around 500 miles ago.

Buyers are now presented with the rare opportunity to own one of these exquisite kit cars, just in time for the upcoming Summer!

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
