Highlights

  • 4-stroke 8hp Tohatsu outboard motor
  • Refitted in 2020
  • Galvanised roller road trailer

The Appeal

There’s a great deal of fun to be had on the water and here we have a charming vessel in which to explore inland and coastal waterways.
Extensively refitted in 2020, this boat is now equipped with an 8hp Tohatsu 4-stroke outboard with electric start and helm controls, making this an economical, low maintenance craft that is easy to control.

The addition of a galvanised roller trailer makes this a boat that can be launched and used wherever the next owner pleases.

The History and Paperwork

  • Purchased by vendor in 2020
  • Recently refitted
  • Tohatsu owner’s manuals and instructions included

The Interior

  • Wooden brightwork
  • Ample seating forward and aft
  • Helm situated on starboard gunwale
This boat boasts plentiful seating and high gunwales, making this a comfortable and safe craft equally suited to freshwater or saltwater use.
To make the most of this space, the helm is situated aft and parallel to the starboard gunwale. Forward, the seating follows the shape of the bow and is afforded some weather protection by being set back from the prow.

Under the wooden foredeck is situated a comparatively large bow locker in which to store the fenders, banking irons, anchor and lines which accompany this boat.
Having been subject to a full refit in 2020, the interior of this boat remains smart and simple.

The woodwork has been refinished and the blue cushions appear to be in very good condition.

The Exterior

  • Repainted in 2020
  • GRP construction
  • Some use-related wear
Having been repainted during the 2020 refit, this boat presents very well visually.

As is to be expected of a craft that is launched and recovered on a trailer, there are some use-related marks to the hull, particularly where the bow contacts the trailer snubber and around the corners of the transom.

We particularly enjoy the wooden appointments which make this appear a very traditional vessel.
Overall, the exterior condition of this boat is very good and we're big fans of the colour combination of red, white and blue above and below the waterline.

The Mechanics

  • 8hp, 4-stroke Tohatsu outboard
  • Electric start
  • Remote controls
We particularly like how this boat is set up in such a way that it is simple to operate.

The 8 horsepower Tohatsu is an economical, quiet and torquey powerplant that should propel this boat more than adequately in most conditions. Furthermore, this unit has only covered 20 hours use and so is in fine fettle.
Electric start and remote controls mean that this boat can be controlled entirely from being seated at the helm.

This added ease of operation is unusual on boats this size and make it really very usable.

Summary

This boat combines traditional features such as wooden brightwork and coach painting with a low-maintenance GRP hull and modern helm setup.
With its smart galvanised trailer, this would make a wonderful craft for first time boaters and experienced seafarers alike.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
