Recently imported from Dubai this one owner, low mileage Bentley Eight caught the eye of the current owner, whose plan was to restore it to its former status and glory.
An unforeseen and sudden medical condition has meant that this plan has had to be abandoned and now there is the opportunity for someone else to take on the project.
Finished in Scarlet quality leather with Magnolia piping the spacious original interior still reflects the classic style and luxury that comes with Bentleys from this era.
All the leather seats have worn very well indeed with the most wear being evident on the driver’s seat and central armrest. They are still very supportive and very comfortable.
The rest of the well appointed interior is all in very good condition with only the wooden veneer on the dashboard and door cappings needing some attention.
The deep pile carpets and mats are all good as are headlining and door cards, and it would be a simple matter to repair the hole in the centre console that probably had an early mobile telephone fitted there.NH1b4a0YOOtZBX0soKvShiz5VnVH2Z0Izh3WpVvQ.jpeg267.05 KB
The Exterior
Good all round condition
Nice original wheels
New tyres
Finished in Acrylic White paintwork the panels all look solid with no signs of any bubbling paint anywhere but there are many chips and areas that do need some attention.
The bonnet was taken off its hinges, which is why the photos suggest that it doesn’t fit correctly, there is a small dent at the front of the roof and a scratch along it, and the front bumper needs re-fixing to its mounting points.
The chrome trim all looks to be in fair shape and the imposing front grill unfortunately has some damage and gold bonnet ornament is a rare and nice finishing touch.
It is usual with cars belonging to Royal households to have no records of service history as a team of their own in-house engineers usually maintains their cars.
Since its arrival in the UK due to health issues the current owner has been unable to fully assess the car’s mechanical condition so it will require a good check over prior to putting it through an MOT and registering the car with the DVLA
The engine starts but it hasn’t been driven any distance, so it probably needs a thorough check over before doing so. It’s already had the headlights changed to UK spec and four new tyres fitted.
Bought because of its low mileage and general all round good condition, this car now becomes an mer, and very impressive, glory.
