The Background
With styling cues taken from the Testarossa the 348 looks quick standing still and with its naturally aspirated, quad-cam V8 producing 300bhp it certainly gets down the road pretty sharpish too.
Available in both TB coupé and TS Targa guises the 348 was the last V8 Ferrari developed under the leadership of Enzo Ferrari before his death in 1988.
The History
The current owner purchased the car from V&G Automobile in Germany in 2018 and officially imported it into Belgium where it has resided for the past four years.
It has been lovingly cared for and maintained throughout its life and remains a great example of the marque.
The Paperwork
The car comes with a fully stamped service history as well as official papers including the Douane import document and various receipts for works carried out.
The Interior
The original interior is in fantastic condition throughout and the cream leather bucket seats are in great shape. The matching centre console, lower dash and door panels present equally well and the contrasting red carpets are clean and tidy.
We could see no damage to any of the interior trim parts and the entire cockpit is free from any major wear and tear. The car comes with its original leather tool bag and selection of tools.
The Exterior
There is a small paint chip of roughly 1 mm² on the rear of the car near the brake light on the right-hand side but apart from this tiny blemish the rest of the bodywork presents incredibly well and the car looks gorgeous.
The original wheels appear faultless and are all clad in Bridgestone rubber. Underneath is clean and tidy and there is no evidence of any accident damage or repair work.
The Mechanics
The current owner assures us that the car is mechanically perfect and wants for nothing.
Judging by the pictures of the engine bay, under side of the car and what we can see of the braking and suspension components it's hard to argue as everything appears to be in excellent condition.
The front tires still have very deep profile and the rear ones still have between 4 to 6 mm, meaning they won't need to be replaced any time soon.
The Appeal
Perhaps not as revered as other more popular models upon release the 348 is still a great car and is becoming more and more desirable.
With its sleek looks and impressive performance figures the TB remains a fantastic coupé and as a slightly less revered model in the Ferrari canon it could potentially be a bit of a bargain. After all, the winning bid still secures the new owner a classic, two-seater, V8 Ferrari in absolutely stunning condition with full service history. And let's face it, who wouldn't want that?
