BODY / CHASSIS
Prior to build, the Ultima spaceframe chassis was been treated to a further powder coating treatment, at a depth of more than twice that of the standard factory coating. This is the best prepared and protected Ultima chassis we’ve seen. Where visible, alloy panels have been carbon wrapped and all surfaces adjoining the cockpit have been heat shielded and sound proofed. An additional bulkhead has been fitted behind the radiator to further prevent hot air from reaching the cabin.
The black gel-coat bodywork was professionally detailed over a 3-day period and finished with a ceramic protective coating. The finished car weighs in at approx. 980kg and with it’s 545bhp LS3 V8 motor, delivers a stunning 556bhp/ ton power to weight ratio, eclipsing that of a Bugatti Veyron.
Exterior body vents are Ultima Evo spec (providing greater open surface areas for enhanced cooling), as are the rear exhaust trims. The door mirrors are Can Am spec, on aluminium uprights. Side vents have been fitted with scoops for further cooling on the move.
A black vinyl sun visor has been added to the windscreen and side windows for a more aggressive visual profile.
Upgrade all-clear front lights and side repeaters are matched with LED rear lights for a fresh & clean look.
DRIVETRAIN :
This car comes fitted with a stunning band new 6. 2 litre, GM crate LS3 V8 motor, which has been upgraded with a fast-road camshaft & uprated valve springs. The K&N air filter facilitates deep breathing together with the dual catalyst, ceramic coated Ultima exhaust system.
Upon build, the engine was bench tested at a solid and reliable 545bhp with 552lb/ ft torque, but it can easily be tuned for further power. Dual fuel tanks feed simultaneously into a filter & low pressure pump, which in turn flow to a swirl pot. From the swirl pot a high pressure pump feeds the motor via a further filter. Filters are fitted with motorsport grade quick release connectors to facilitate easy removal / servicing.
An under tray has been fitted to the chassis under the motor to smooth out airflow and help prevent dirt & moisture from entering the engine bay.
The LS3 is mated to a ubiquitous Porsche G50 transmission via a KEP adapter plate and 911 hydraulic clutch. The gearbox is complete with an ultra-rare Porsche 40% locking LSD fitted for maximum traction. The right hand shift is precise and provides a true “Group C for the road” feel.
Cooling is via a standard Ultima front mount radiator, with uprated cooling fans. The car has completed long duration testing with perfect temperature management.
SUSPENSION / BRAKES / WHEELS :
Ultima Coilover suspension is fitted with adjustable shock absorbers and fast-road bushing to all wishbones.
4-pot ”AP “big brakes” all round (12. 7” cross drilled discs & Mintex 1166 pads), with separate rear cable operated handbrake callipers.
Ultima / OZ polished 18” 3-piece split rim wheels all round, with Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres (245/ 35/ 18 and 335/ 30/ 18).
INTERIOR
The interior has been upgraded from standard with a number of comfort orientated features. The air conditioned cabin has been treated to full heat & soundproofing within all panelling, including within the floor. Alloy panels have been carbon wrapped, the full dashboard is leather trimmed, the dropped floor is carpeted and the roll cage has a stunning custom alcantara wrapped & stitched finish.
A custom centre console houses the HVAC controls, auxiliary air vents, a 12V outlet, a cooling fan over-ride switch and fog light switch. The speedo & rev counter sit in a custom pod, behind the leather 320mm Ultima steering wheel. LED warning indicators sit within the speedo binnacle and a column stalk further simplifies the dashboard. The column stalks control the indicators, headlights, hazard lights and windscreen wash/ wipe, further allowing for a cleaner, simplified dashboard installation.
Ultima leather seats are fitted with sliding subframes, inflatable lumbar support bolsters and 6-point Willans race harnesses. Side luggage pods are trimmed, with carbon fibre lids. A dual plubed in LifeLine fire extinguisher system is located behind the seats, with activation handles behind the handbrake lever.
