Rare opportunity to purchase an official UK spec ZL1000 eliminator with comprehensive service history, lots of receipts and the original sales invoice, these were only made for one year, 1987, this bike was registered in june 1988
It is completely original and iv'e ridden it a few times this year but house projects have to be completed so it's up for sale,
I bought it in february this year, the previous owner had dropped it at low speed and damaged the headlight shell and the clock surrounds, i have replaced the speedo with a slightly higher mileage one and the surround, the tacho one needs replacing, i still have the old speedo with the mileage showing.
The exhaust silencers are scuffed where it was dropped, the exhaust system being original and 30 years old blows slightly from the collector box.
I mainly ride a sportsbike and the handling is much better than i expected, far better than a vmax, the torque and midrange is phenomonal, great engine and gearbox.
The rear suspension is original and imo needs replacing with a modern set
The rear tyre will need replacing pretty soon
M. O. T till october 20th this year
The battery was replaced less than 12 months ago
You could probably ride it for the next ten years as it is but it isnt mint, just original and i had plans of carrying out a light restoration on it but my house needs work doing on it hence its for sale.
There are currently only 27 of these on the UK roads, around 120 were imported by kawasaki in total.
Due to the rarity and the history with the bike, including the service supplement i have priced it in line with current classic bike market prices, its not cheap but its not excessive either
