I love the Mercedes Ponton cars! They are so relaxing and comforting, just like that big lazy boy chair when you come home after work. It can tilt backwards a lot and you think it is going to flip, but it won’t. If you had a stressful day, the best Medicine is to go for a drive in a Mercedes Ponton!
Exterior: The car was repainted about 5 years ago, but only below the windows. The top is still in the first paint and looks very good. The chrome is very nice. There are some smaller scratches in the bumpers, but overall very nice. The windscreen and seal have just been replaced and the rest of outside rubber is good. New tyres with white stripe fitted this year. Very elegant car that gets a lot of road attention.
Interior: The beauty of this car is that the interior is 100% original and absolutely perfect. With minimal traces of use, it is like stepping in to a time capsule. The textile is nice and clean as it was always covered. The panels do not have any cracks and the headliner is beautiful. All chrome details inside are as perfect as they can be after 60 years. Even the original plastic carpet is in good condition.
Engine: Has just been properly serviced. A new plate on the side of the block has been fitted and it runs perfectly. Starts easily and gives good power to this beautiful little car. Also, gearbox and final drive are quiet or with normal sound. This is the strongest engine put in a 190 Ponton with 84hp so you are cruising in style!
History: Sold new here in Sweden in 1957. The first owner had the car until 1975 and the second owner used it until 1977 when it was taken out off traffic. He kept the car in a dry barn until 2017 when he sold it. It was epainted in 2017 and some smaller body work was done. The covers that had been on the interior since 1957 were taken off. It has just gone through a proper service and back on the road. To see a car from this age, so original and in such condition, is very rare. There is no doubt this car was well taken car off. When you open the door, there is still all the service stickers to be seen.
