Description
Wolseley 15/ 60 - Time Warp Car 27k miles/ 2 Owners
The Wolseley 15/ 60 launched in 1958 was the first incarnation of the ubiquitous Farina. The Wolseley, quickly followed by the Austin, Morris, Riley and MG badged derivatives was the ‘family man’ mainstays of BMC and remained in production until 1971. Power was curtesy of the 1500cc ‘B’ series engine mated to a four speed gearbox and with stylish leather/ wood interior the car well received by press and public alike.
Milestone Classics are delighted to offer our two owner ‘Cathedral Rear Light’ 15/ 60 in its original colour of Yukon Grey with red leather interior that has covered just 27, 000 miles from new – it is the best we have seen.
The first owner, William Murrell, absolutely cherished his 15/ 60 during 54 years of ownership using her sparingly until he gave up driving in 2014 when the car passed to the second owner, a fellow club member and life-long Farina fanatic. The Wolseley was re-commissioned - work included an engine rebuild, brake overhaul etc. – and has since covered around 300 miles going to local shows and club events.
Today the car is in ‘time-warp’ condition with original paint/ chrome and an interior that is like stepping back in time – the smell is that of a one year old car! There are absolutely no corrosion/ structural issues with the Wolseley and she drives superbly with willing engine, smooth gear change and excellent brakes
On the open market for the first time in 58 years the 15/ 60 is one of the rarest BMC models from this era and we expect her to find an appreciative new home very quickly.
