This low mileage MGB GT LE was built on the 19th September 1980 and is chassis number 600 of 1000 Limited Edition cars built between the 8th August and 22nd October 1980. This is 317 of 580 GT models and the LE models were amongst the last MGB’s to be built before the closure of the Abingdon factory on the 22nd October 1980. This particular car was first registered on the 30th January 1981 and was sold new by Arnold G Wilson (Alwoodley) Ltd in Leeds . The MG was sold to a lady business owner on Harrogate Road, Leeds and from new the MG has covered little over 60, 000 miles and comes with a full history.
The original passport to service book records services at 970, 2805, 4868, 6053, 8200, 10272, 11800, 27241, 31072, 33766, 35881, 39353 and 48500 miles. 26 MOT certificates dating back to 1984 are also with the car, along with a comprehensive file of receipts for service and maintenance work. Receipts detail lots of mechanical work but also more recent invoices for brand new leather upholstery and fitting of a brand new webasto style sunroof. We previously sold the MG to a regular customer in Scarborough during the summer of 2017 and the car has proven totally reliable and enjoyable to own. Last year we serviced the MG and fitted new brake shoes, re-calibrated the speedo, replaced the radiator fan thermostatic control, rectified the then faulty fuel gauge, fitted new steering rack gaiters and Halogen headlamps. The MG arrived back with us in part exchange having being driven over from the East coast. Our LE is in strong mechanical condition and it drives superbly with an excellent engine holding superb oil pressure, a first class gearbox with smooth overdrive and brakes, handling and steering all feel superb. This MGB GT LE is brilliant on the road and is certainly lots of fun

This very honest car presents well with sharp, bright Silver paintwork and a lovely straight bodyshell. The wheels looked to have been recently re-furbished and the sunroof is in excellent order. The interior is beautifully presented with excellent seats, and clean, smart door cards, headlining, dash and carpets. The engine bay is clean and original and the rubber bumpers are in good order. These LE models are becoming very desirable and finding low mileage examples with history from new is increasingly difficult.
