Description

1966 BSA A65 Lightning 650cc Twin Presented in BEAUTIFUL and excellent condition and in my opinion very original. It has excellent chrome work and paint work, shiny alloy engine cases, excellent tyres, chain and sprockets and we have just serviced it fitting a new battery, oil changed, sonically cleaned carburettors, new Tacho cable has been fitted and new rear tyre and inner tube. It fires into life with out effort and sounds superb. On the road the gears select correctly and the 650cc motor pulls very well with no major oil smoke or undue noise. The Lightning was the twin carburetor road going A65 twin and the Thunderbolt was the single carburetor version. Other versions of the BSA A65 were offered by the factory such as the Spitfire, Hornet, Clubman and Star Twin. The A65 Range proved very popular in the USA were most of the production actually was directed. This example was exported new by BSA Small Heath, Birmingham in 1966 to the USA were it appears to have had a very sheltered existence. Correct engine and frame numbers. US title shows the Lightning returning from Delaware in mid 2018. It now has its UK V5C and MOT expires January 2021. Great looking bike and extremely nice out on the road. Shipping and delivery arranged.
