MGB GT Mk1 – Stunning Restoration/ Fast Road Specification
The MGB GT designed by Pininfarina was introduced in October 1965 and can claim to be one of the earliest sports hatchbacks to go into volume production. The rear deck offered excellent luggage space with a 2+2 option and improved aerodynamics gave the GT a top speed in excess of 100mph
Milestones are delighted to market this stunning GT that has had just six owners since 1969 and was the subject of a full professional rebuild in 1997 by Hugh Finney, Classic & Vintage Restoration Services. The huge history folder includes invoices/ pictures of the restoration and lots of additional invoices and letters since….. it really tells the story of the car for the last 40years.
The rebuild specification and later work includes:
· Respray in Riviera Blue
· Reconditioned 5 bearing engine – Stage 2 head/ fast road cam
· Reconditioned overdrive gearbox
· All mechanical & electrical components reconditioned including electronic ignition & alternator
· Koni dampers and Hoyle Engineering rear suspension/ disc brakes (the best conversion)
· RV8 front suspension
· Replacement MG Owners Club carpets/ interior trim
· High performance aluminium radiator and Kenlowe fan
The fast road engine/ suspension upgrades without doubt make this one of the best driving GT’s we have had the pleasure to offer and the restoration in Riviera Blue gives this car real presence on the road.
This car really does tick all the boxes and will provide the lucky new owner with many years be it holiday road trips, Goodwood Revival or simply a summer evening trip down to the local pub.
