This fabulous MGB GT was built on the 6-7th February 1967 in RHD format and supplied new with wire wheels and heater. Finished in the very attractive colour of Grampian Grey with a Burgundy leather trim and chrome wire wheels, NLF 142E is offered onto the market in exceptional condition and has recently had in the region of £10, 000 spent on mechanical work.
Major mechanical work completed in early 2019 included a brand new, warranted, fully rebuilt engine, fully rebuilt gearbox and overdrive unit, new prop shaft universal joint, new heater and hoses, all new ignition items including a new electronic distributor, high torque starter motor, rebuilt king pins, new front brake discs and pads, new flywheel, ring gear and clutch kit. As result of this impressive program of mechanical work, the MG now drives superbly and is offered onto the market in excellent, strong mechanical order.
A comprehensive history file accompanies the car with invoices dating back to the early 1990's. In 2013/ 2014, the MG was taken to Seville where it spent a couple of years. In the South East of Spain, the MG was treated to around 10, 000 Euros of work that included a full re-paint, re-chrome, and various work to the cooling system and suspension. Since then, our MG has covered very gentle mileage. In 2018, the MG successfully completed the Paris to Amsterdam rally and now back on UK soil, has had a further program of work to take the car to a very high standard.
NLF 142E is a beautifully presented car with a lovely Grampian Grey paint finish on an excellent straight bodyshell that has superb panel gaps, perfect fitting doors and an impressive underside that has had brand new castle rails during a high quality restoration. The bright work is of a very good standard, the chrome wire wheels are excellent and the gorgeous Burgundy leather interior is nicely finished with a correct period steering wheel. The engine bay is outstanding having been nicely detailed with the engine and gearbox recently removed and the car is now ready to use and enjoy with absolute confidence. Needless to say with its brand new engine, rebuilt gearbox and overdrive, this is a fabulous driving car does not require any major expense.
