Beschreibung
A very rare piece of machinery, this beautiful Georges Irat is a small and nimble front-wheel-drive roadster, with a tiny four-cylinder engine.
Georges Irat was a small French manufacturer, whose company started out building large-engined cars. When he found few takers during the Depression era, they opted to start building cars with smaller engines, but it was too little and too late. The company was taken over by Godefroy and Levecque in 1934, and moved to this company's HQ in Levallois. They continued their tradition of FWD sporting roadsters, the smaller-engined of the two models selling reasonably well for a small manufacturer.
The car offered for sale has been in the same ownership for over 40 years, during which it was patiently restored to a full working condition by a fastidious owner. The result is a car that has been certified by two different FIVA representatives over the years, and is always kept in fine fettle. Latest service included a refurbishment of the Dynastart (a combined dynamo and starter motor).
We speak english, french, italian and spanish.
