I have followed the life of this stunning Quattro for over 5 years now and am absolutely delighted to now be its’ proud custodian.
This was my ultimate ‘poster’ car throughout my childhood, which led me to owning three Audi Coupe ‘cooking’ models at the age of seventeen, after persuading my mother-in-law to insure them for me! Even she couldn’t insure the proper Quattro, so the full Turbo itch has never been scratched……… until now!
This 34 year old technical master piece has been enjoyed by only 5 former keepers and covered a total of 96, 000 miles.
She is achingly beautiful and pin-sharp in her gleaming Zermatt Silver coat with a superb finish, even down to the lower valance pin stripes and glass-finish powder coated alloys. I’ve never seen a 1980’s Audi with an original unblemished cloth interior….. until now! My Quattro had her 15 minutes (1 hour to be precise) of fame, when she was subject to a televised, nut and bolt restoration in the hands of Fuzz Townshend and the Car SOS team. During this very expensive and correct rebuild, she was stripped to her component parts and bare metal. The body shell was hand finished to the highest standards, the engine professionally reconditioned and all other parts refurbished to retain complete originality. She comes with a comprehensive history file, original handbooks and stamped service book. Now let’s get in the car, turn the key and listen to the unmistaken burble emanating from that beautiful 5 cylinder powerplant. Engage first gear, take up drive and feel that surefooted four wheel drive surge, which was a technical revelation in the ‘80s…… Oh… did I mention the Turbo…… best just hold on tight and call yourself Walter Rohrl !
