It is with great sadness that I am selling this car. I first saw Her when She picked me up from school the day my friend's mum got Her new in '89.
She started life as a company car. My friend's dad was working on the Vauxhall advertising account and he was given Her for inspiration, it was the 80's!! Anyway, his wife liked Her so much he bought Her for her in 1990. Despite our best efforts following my friend and I passing our driving tests in 1992, we couldn't get anywhere near the keys, and I believe it was until the mid 2000's he was actually allow to drive Her!!! She stayed in her ownership until I bought Her in 2017. From '97until today She has only covered 5000 odd miles.
When I obtained Her, She hadn't been on the road for a couple of years as was surplus to requirements. The local garage who had serviced Her from 1997 onwards were interested, however, as promised I was offered first refusal and the rest is history.
I put a new battery on, booked the MOT and ran Her round to the garage, where, after a thorough service, She passed the MOT without any problem. My plan was to keep the car as a piece of history, however, I don't have the time to make good use of Her, plus with 3 kids under 6 it's not very practical.
She is currently being garaged at my in-laws house near Newmarket. She was MOT'd again in July of this year.
I have all MOT's from 1997, not sure what happened to 93 to 96, and some service/ receipts etc. The manuals and service book are in the car, the latter shows 7 stamps, the last of which 20 March 1998 at a mileage of 57, 000 ish.
The interior is mint as shown in the photo's. The exterior is pretty good for the age apart from some surface rust, the worst of which is in the usual Vauxhall places over the rear wheel arches. Her nose has some stone chips that are showing signs of rust. The rear boot lid has a series of minor dents from the previous owners old gardener knocking it with the mower!
