Introduced at the Paris Motor Show in October 1948, the Hotchkiss 686 S49 featured the classic 3. 5L inline six cylinder engine and the 4 door, 4 seater version was named "Gascogne".
The example presented is exceptional in many ways: indeed, when it was purchased at the 2017 Rétromobile sale, it had been between the hands of the same family since the early 1950s. At the beginning of 2010, the owner decided to have the car completely restored with no consideration of cost. The result is exceptional, both in terms of respect for the original configuration and in the high quality of the restoration. Absolutely everything has been redone or checked, from the chassis, mechanics, upholstery, bodywork, electricals, and the total amount of work amounted to more than 114 000€. Since February 2017 the car has traveled just over 450km. An alternator and a radiator fan have been added to facilitate its use in current traffic. It is definitely one of the most beautiful examples and the running-in will have to be completed. Its powerful mechanics, comfortable interior and exquisitely "pre-war" look make it a great choice for long distance rallies.
Estimation 30 000 - 50 000 €
