The XJ12 L Series 2 that we have on offer was first registered in the Netherlands in 2001. Being a European version, it has a km/ h speedometre and the unrestricted 5, 3 litre V12 engine. It is a running and driving car with valid technical inspection (APK - 19/ 04/ 2020). The car has never been restored and could clearly be improved.
The body looks presentable from a distance, but shows several cosmetic flaws. Most noticeable areas of attention are the doors on the right hand side (paint cracks), the left hand sill panel and a corner of the rear valence, below the rear bumper. Painted in its original colour Regency Red, there is visible blistering as a result of a respray over the factory synthetic paint.
On the inside, the car offers characterful patina, as it still retains its original interior. Some cosmetic upgrades are required: the headlining is sagging, the front seat leather needs to be restitched and the dashboard clearcoat is cracking and peeling. The leather seats will be grateful for a thorough cleanup and feeding. Power windows are working very slowly and require attention.
Mechanically the car is in sound condition. The engine is silent and smooth, with excellent oil pressure and sufficient power. It does need a light service check up however, noticeably including replacement of right hand carburettor gaskets (to inlet manifold) and a new exhaust. Latest extensive service done in 2018.
