Fully working Massey 47hp tractor with road reg, log book, Perkins AD3 engine, lift arms, PTO and a full cab for under 3 grand, the thinking man’s Massey, better spec and works exactly the same as a red one, but its a LOT LESS money.
The 3 cylinder engine starts at the first flick of the key, good clutch and all the gears select in both high & low ranges. Very good foot brakes, power steering, smooth working lift arms and working PTO with cover cap and a tipper pipe.
Fully glazed cab is very solid, both doors open and click shut, both side windows open with intact folding catches (normally broke off), recent new seat with safety belt (very comfy), solid floor and inner wings.
It has 6249 hours on the working clock and was with St Helens Borough Council Leisure & Recreation Department when new, expect all it did in its early life was cut grass. We have an older style log book showing only 2 keepers and we have checked the info at the DVLA, first registered to the council in April 1983.
The electrics need fiddling with, no front headlights fitted, rears lights not working, some dials not working, rear opening window needs 2 two gas struts, battery cover in cab not present. Paintwork is shabby chic bit looks to be original (still see council name on the bonnet). Tyres all stay up, good tread with some signs of age cracks.
A lot of Massey tractor for under three grand, don’t be a “red” snob and buy yourself an excellent value machine for half the price.
