Affectionately, and aptly, known as ‘The Cathedral’, the size and presence of the W140 S class is something to behold.
This S600 LWB from 1996 was, at the time, the most expensive model in the Mercedes range and is regarded as the last of the ‘overengineered’ cars they produced, packed with technology and comfort innovations.
Double-pane windows, four-zone climate control, self-levelling suspension, soft-closing doors and bootlid, electric and heated rear seats, suede headcloth, rear picnic tables – the spec list is phenomenal.
The overall condition of this facelift model is superb and the car has been maintained regardless of cost throughout its life. The Midnight Blue bodywork has been recently refreshed, as have the AMG alloys. In fact, in the last 20k miles, the car has had over €16k spent on it to make it perfect.
The flagship 6 litre V12 provides effortless power and refinement and has a full main dealer history covering the 99k miles. Most recently the car has had a complete suspension overhaul, new ignition system, water pump and brakes.
This is a beautiful example of a very special Mercedes and has been a personal car of ours for 3 years.
