1937 BSA M23 Empire Star. V5C present plus all previous logbooks and old RF62. This was originally a 1940 Military M20 which was demobbed and first registered for civilian use in 1962. hence the late registration. The number is the original reg and is transferable. The M33 engine has been added at some point afterwards.
The bike is in super condition having been restored. it starts easily, runs great, pulls like a train and is charging well. All the lights work, the clutch and gears are fine, brakes good and this is ready to go, As it is an iron engine it is quiet and under-stressed. Chrome and paintwork are all up to a good standard. I would describe this as a very tidy machine and definitely a good bike that you could use every day without concern.
The late Empire Star is a rare machine as it only lasted in this form for one season. it was on a machine to this that the famous 100mph lap was achieved at Brooklands, winning BSA a "Gold Star" and the rest is history, These are highly desirable in BSA circles for this reason.
