Supplied through Jacksons Mercedes Benz in August 1998, this example has remained on the Channel Islands for the duration, coming over to the mainland for the first time this Autumn.
The two long term owners have used the car sparingly, save for the occasional trip to the Riviera or the Alps.
These limited edition models had a unique specification, with a majority of the Mercedes Benz 129 SL options being standard. In addition this particular car has had fitted from new split rim 18'' AMG wheels.
Mechanically the car stops, starts drives as it should, the switchable automatic gearbox is smooth, the 6 cylinder engine likewise. Perfect oil pressure and no dramas with the engine temperature.
Inside the car is correct and original, showing very little wear, just correct and a patina of a low mileage, cared for car.
Mercedes overmats have been fitted from new.
The luggage compartment is near unmarked, all tools, jack, the unique 10 stack CD player all correct and in place. The spare wheel is unmarked with its original tyre un-used.....
A new Mercedes Benz hood was fitted 3 years ago, once again 'as new'.
The bodywork is very straight, no dents and is rust free, it retains all its original panels. The car presents very well, and save a couple of very minor areas of mico-blistering, the paintwork is unmarked.
The hardtop is present and correct.
The car comes with its history file, books, service history, detailed bills and most importantly two sets of keys, these variants no longer being available from Mercedes as replacements.
I have all the paperwork that is necessary for registration, including the NOVA letter so all duties have been paid upon UK entry, so it's just a matter of road tax! Having many years of experience in dealing with the DVLA in matters of registration, should the new owner want me to, I can carry out, or help carry out registration.
This is a lovely example of a 'Limited Edition' or 'Special Edition' 129 SL, ready to be used for special occasions or as everyday transport to be made the most of whilst we can!
