The 911 model E and S are considered the most sought-after due to their highly-praised MFI (Mechanical-Fuel Injection) 2. 4 litre Flat-Six which produces 165 HP to its rear wheels.
Available here today is an ultra-rare and ‘Last of’ the small bumper 911’s, a 1973 Porsche 911 E Coupé; Australian delivered and numbers matching.
This 911 was sold new through Porsche Cars Australian Distributer in Melbourne on the 16th of February 1973 In E specification and optioned with a sportomatic transmission.
Today this Porsche presents as an original and an exceedingly well-preserved survivor, the interior is untouched and the body work is in excellent order throughout.
In March 2020 this Porsche was the subject of a complete engine rebuild along with a 915 5-Speed manual conversion and had the suspension system and drivelines overhauled.
Shortly afterwards it was sent to a marque specialist in Melbourne and had the original and correct Bosch Fuel Pump rebuilt, throttle bodies rebuilt, throttle microswitch and fuel injectors replaced.
Accompanying the sale of the vehicle is its original sportomatic transmission, its original set of service books and paperwork documenting its recent major works.
