It's like no other; this 993 has all the hallmarks of quality, class and elegance.
The provenance, with an abnormal level of maintenance, exceptional condition and the rare colour choice combine to make it one of the best we have ever seen.
We have handled many Porsche over the years and have found some of the finest in Japan, a country where the marque is highly prized and comparatively expensive to buy. Maybe this is the reason why the Japanese are generally fastidious with the care of their Porsche? Most often they are for summer use only, so are not subjected to salty roads, are kept garaged when not in use and are main dealer serviced regardless of the low miles.
This Carrera 2 cabriolet was supplied new in February 1995 by Mizwa Motors, one of the Porsche dealers in Tokyo. It is a 'C18' RHD model, Japan being the only country where customers have the choice of which side they would prefer the steering wheel. (LHD would be a 'C08').
Imported into the UK by Adrian himself in the summer of 2017; on closer inspection we found it to be outstanding both on the surface and underneath. With evidence of its original yellow Cosmoline wax and gold passivate protection, it was clear that this Porsche had led a very charmed life. Although averaging only a little over 1, 140 miles per year, the upkeep has been meticulous with more than 20 entries in the service book, with the two most recent here at Williams Crawford in 2018 and 2020.
Unique, yet in no way brash, the bold colour combination will surely be noticed in a crowd, but for all the right reasons;
Impressive in fabulous jacket of Aventura green metallic; the 993 launch colour. Varying hues of greens, greys and blues that change depending on the light, it's a shade that needs to be viewed in the flesh to be fully appreciated.
The fully electric black hood folds down to reveal the fabulous Chestnut brown leather interior; 8-way electrically adjustable and heated seats, steering wheel with Tiptronic buttons and air conditioning.
The only changes to the original specification were carried out here in our workshop in 2018. These are the 18" SportDesign alloys with full colour Porsche crest centre caps, a Pioneer radio/ CD head unit with Bluetooth, Hertz speaker system and a replacement odometer to show speed and distance in mph rather than kph. (The original odometer is included with the car.)
We consider this a Condition Grade 4+ classic, up there with the very best.
