This cute little “Ape” is as much fun as you can legally have with your clothes on, a smile every mile, cheap as chips to run, fully UK road legal, free road tax and MOT exempt, totally original and unrestored and you can even earn a wage with its unique, foldable advertising platform, earn, play, promote, shows, rallies, road runs the options are endless.
ADVERTISING OPTION
We have given this fun classic motor an earning potential by creating a removable platform so you can use the Ape as an advertising vehicle, charging others to drive around towns and cities advertising local promotions or your own business, park it in a prominent place on junction or retail estates, it’s a very cheap form of advertising, it runs all day on a teacup of petrol.
The simple posters we are displaying cost just over a tenner each, so a full-size placard would be easily affordable and cost less than a, one issue, quarter page ad in the local rag, plus you can be sure people WILL look at this eye catcher.
When not required the boards fold flat and can be stored inside the load bed or stood up against a wall. Nothing has been adapted or drilled on the Ape, if you don’t want the board’s we are happy to negotiate a discount on the price.
THE VEHICLE
1974 model, historic road tax (free) and MOT exempt, 175cc engine with manual gears, starts and runs very well, has a good top end road speed, will keep up with modern traffic and its not underpowered, it will carry 500kg, a proper Italian mini work horse.
The “MP” model denotes “Motore Posteriore” a larger rear mounted engine fitted over the rear axle instead of under the seat in the cab, makes for a quieter ride and much easier to access for servicing.
Came to us direct from the UK’s most prominent Italian Ape importers “Morgan’s Customs & Classics” with the intention of being restored, but on arrival it was just too good to touch, so its been cleaned up, serviced, brand new, proper commercial rated, tyres and tubes fitted, UK registered, totally original, unrestored, completely genuine example, still has all the unrepeatable patina on the paint, a little wear on the seat cover and retains its sweet little magnetic “St Christopher” on the dashboard.
We’ve fitted new mirrors, wiper arm and floor mats, a small hole has been invisibly repaired in one floor well, everything works as it should, all the side lights, headlight, horn, indicators, brake lights.
The foot brakes are sharp and lock up if pushed hard, the handbrake is very good. A new battery clamp has been fabricated and fitted, both doors open and click shut, even the windows open and close with working original catches, it’s all good to go.
We have the current full UK log book in our name and a we found a full 156 page service manual in English, its included with the sale in a PDF format so you’ll have it hand for any serving or repairs. Parts are readily available on the net, admittedly mostly from Italy rather than off the shelf, but you can get everything you need posted to your door.
In summary, its incredibly good fun to drive, everyone points and waves as you pass by, will be a real talking point at shows and rallies, very original and unrestored, will only increase in value, probably better than the 0. 01% interest you’re getting at the bank, its cheap to own and run and has the potential to earn a few quid, you can’t buy much for under five grand these days that ticks all those boxes.

We can currently still supply and deliver this item. Any deliver will be completed at a safe social distance at the entrance to your property.
It has already been thoroughly cleaned and washed, it will be fully wiped down with antiseptic on the controls before leaving here and prior to delivery.
Payment will be by bank transfer in advance, we do not accept cash under any circumstances.
Browsing, viewings, test ride / drives, social visits are currently NOT available. We have produced the video to show the item in full motion and will happily take further pics of anything required, we can complete a telephone appraisal and answer any queries.
Collections will ONLY be by prior arrangement and following full payment in advance “Click & Collect”. The item will be placed at our entrance for you to collect at a safe social distance.
