1936 Railton Straight Eight 4. 2 Litre Tourer , Bodied By "Carbodies" Unique body we believe built to order for Grand Touring , Has externally opening boot , Twin side mounted spare wheels and Front hinged full depth doors . Chassis number 643189 . The Railton Tourer is supplied with its original registration number being CNF819 and has a current V5C . It was registered on the 25/ 7/ 1936 in Wales I believe . We have a Buff log book commencing from 1956 and a researched history of owners from that date to the current owner since 2011 . See original photograph supplied of CNF819 outside the "Flacon" public house , Stratford dated 1957 . The former keeper purchased the Railton in 2011 and started a complete restoration from the chassis up . An extensive photographic history of the restoration to the point it is presented at to day is supplied with the Railton . It shows the ash frame restoration and body restoration . The file supplied with the Railton details the chassis build up , Suspension rebuild , Brake rebuild , Re wiring and Engine works etc . The motor runs . It currently requires completion and CNF819 is offered for further restoration . Offered for sale as you see it . Once completed this is an elegant and powerful Pre War touring car . Completed touring examples have achieved in excess of £80, 000 in completed restored condition in the past 18 months .
