This lovely Mercedes Coupé was in the hands of its first owner from new until 2017. Subsequently supplied by ourselves to its second and third owners.
Purchased new from Mercedes agents, Arlington of Bedford on February 4th 1993, the first owner kept the car until they retired from driving.
This is a cross-over model of the 124 series, with the pre-facelift appearance (chrome grill and amber indicators) but with the later, more powerful electronically injected multi-valve 2. 2-litre engine.
Specified with Brilliant Silver paintwork contrasted by rare and very attractive black Sports Check cloth with Zebrano wood. It’s equipped with the four-speed automatic gearbox, 8-hole alloy wheels, driver’s airbag and illuminated vanity mirrors. Unusually it was not ordered with the optional radio when new and still does not have one. Just the blanking plate on the dashboard. It’s rare to see this today and indicates how original this car is.
All original books and manuals come with the car including the servicing book, showing a full service history comprising of 18 entries, the majority of which are from the supplying dealer, then a MB specialist, ourselves and MB Basingstoke. In July 2020 (at 107k miles) Mercedes Basingstoke carried out the last service along with replacement of the head gasket. Refurbished alloy wheels with recent matching Goodyear tyres.
HPI clear and has all spare keys including the wallet and valet keys. Will come with 12 months MoT.
In excellent condition throughout. The paintwork is very nice and the car is free from corrosion. The interior is absolutely immaculate and everything works.
This is a particularly lovely car to drive. It feels fresh and tight as if it were a two-year old car. Perfect oil pressure and temperature readings with excellent performance and imperceptible gear changes.
In summary, a very original Coupé from long-term and enthusiast ownership in excellent order throughout with a great history.
