Description
This machine is an extremely rare 1940 500CC Military Scout.
All original including the Carb, magneto, generator etc.
The metal work is all original too with no pattern or fabricated parts on the machine.
It was brought to the UK around 1941/ 42 when the US Army joined the allies, it is believed that the machine is likely to have seen action.
The bike was left behind in the UK at the end of the war (around 1946-47) and was then civilianised shortly after in the correct Indian red with pin stripes.
The machine has been in the UK and on the road ever since.
It is extremely rare to find an Indian Scout which has been in the country since the early 40s and even rarer to find one in such wonderful condition with all original panel work and parts.
The bike was fully restored some years ago and is in superb running order, shifts well and the clutch is smooth. It’s nicely tuned and accelerates well keeping up with modern traffic easily.
