Description
1930 Ariel Model G sport in smart and mechanically sound condition . Not concours and with a few chips and knocks here and there but very presentable , good club run bike . Very reliable and practical , very fast but also quite happy sedately chuffing along at 30 , re-conditioned dynamo , good lights , lovely engine and gearbox , a few replacement pattern parts .
I have ridden it fairly long distances and done Banburys and IoW Scurries etc and it's always been reliable and comfortable . It's my default "every day" bike and goes out in all weather , also good 2-up .
A few points to note - reconditioned dynamo and modern solid state regulator/ rectifier ( David Lindsley ), charges well . re conditioned magneto ( previous owner ) , nice brass Amal Carb , new front rim & spokes , good tyres , excellent lights , lovely smooth gearbox , new (pattern) LH silencer , new old stock cylinder head , valves and guides , solid tanks and tinware . Original Reg. No. and buff log book & V5 "historic" reg doc .
All in all , a good sporty vintage 500 , sorry to see it go but need to fund a Rudge project
