Descripción
This sharp Austin Healey 100 is a high standard car, vastly upgraded to a specification far exceeding 100M specification and with a purposeful aesthetic to match. This original right-hand drive 100, UEH 242 is a matching numbers car with much specialist attention to detail throughout from restoration to present day.
Built on 19th May 1954 this early home market was first registered in Stoke-on-Trent as UEH 242. Finished in darker tinted shade of its original Spruce Green with Black wire wheels this Healey has some added menace thanks to a de-bumpered and smoothed look, a aluminium 100M louvred bonnet with Le Mans regulation strap. With the windscreen lowered into ‘racing position’ this 100 turns many heads.
Inside UEH 242 is in sumptuously fine condition having just had a full retrim including bespoke Black leather seating with Green piping and matching armrest, Black carpet, Black door cards with 50 miles since. The car additionally has the benefit of Dynamat heat and noise insulation to boost refinement.
Mechanically this Healey is spot on, having just had a major overall service plus full gearbox rebuild, suspension rebuild, new uprated core radiator fitted, upgraded exhaust manifold and road specification side exhaust. The engine of UEH 242 is very impressive having been built and specified first by Healey racer John Chatham and then later rebuilt around 2005. The engine has the full 100M treatment of larger carburettors and cold air box, camshaft, pistons plus a aluminium Denis Welch cylinder head to take performance a bit further, an upgraded distributor and an electric fan. The car rides and steers tightly and feels light on its feet, cruising with ease at high speeds and stopping from them well thanks to a front disc brake upgrade with Michelin XAS tyres providing good grip.
Cosmetically the car is in very good condition having been restored from the bare metal chassis up utilising all its original panels except for the addition of an aluminium bonnet and boot. The car as such provides very good panel gaps throughout.
Sold with MOT, large paperwork history file, British Motor Heritage Certificate of Authenticity, Thor hammer and jack.
