THIS is my Wolseley 4/ 44. She is a 1955 model in black with the usual Wolseley tan leather which is in great condition. Her wooden dash and door cappings have been recently refurbished too. A really sound and pretty luxury BMC car, she drives superbly showing great oil pressure and having an excellent column change.
She also has the addition of adjustable Spax suspension to the rear, alongside the existing leaf springs. She is, as you would imagine, an extremely comfortable ride!
These 4/ 44s are highly sought after these days and are rarely offered for sale. She does have some minor paint imperfections here and there which you could play about with if you felt the urge. I wouldn't bother personally. I think she is a delightful example as she is, showing pretty much just the right amount of patina.
Please remember that these classic cars are the equivalent of motoring antiques and cannot, under any circumstances, be compared to your new BMW. Go around them with a fine toothcomb and you will find faults. They all have them unless they are presented as concours! They all need ongoing love and care. They tend to leak oil in varying degrees. They may break down, play up or even present you with a mystery that takes some solving. But that is all part and parcel of classic car ownership. They are there to be loved and cherished like a family pet. They are our motoring heritage and should be treated as such. This old girl for example is now 66-years-old.
