Chassis #10024 (ELB420J) was the first RHD Jarama to be released by the factory and one of only three series 1 cars to be imported to the UK market. She was displayed to the public on the Lamborghini Stand of the 1970 London Motor Show, and subsequently was used as the Press Test Car for "Motor" magazine with the subsequent article published in the July 1971 issue. She also featured in other magazine articles of the period. I have originals of all of these, together with a press cutting of the car on the Motor Show Stand.
The car has a known and documented history; traced back to when first registered.
I purchased this car as quite a challenging "project" and its 1000's of hours of renovation during my ownership is well documented on the Vintage Lamborghini Garage website forum. It is well worth reviewing this prior to asking questions as it will provide an excellent knowledge of the extensive work accomplished.
She now runs and drives well, but my intention was never to produce a show queen, so there are certainly areas that could be improved if that is the desire of the new owner. I am happy to go through a frank and honest assessment of such things with seriously interested parties by telephone or in person.
The car has a current recorded mileage of 47, 916 and whilst I am not able to verify that as being accurate, it does seem entirely believable and commensurate with my findings during renovation.
Driving the car today is both thrilling and engaging; there can be little to compare with the assault on the senses of a Lamborghini DOHC V12 fed by 6 DCOE Webers when on song – an excellent balance between drama and driveability. This car was well ahead of the times in 1970; 5 speed gearbox, double wishbone suspension and disc brakes all round, and even today, any Jarama remains a surprisingly modern feeling and useable package.
Pricing any classic Lamborghini in today's market, let alone a car with the provenance of this one, is difficult. I think so many cars being advertised out there are over-priced, so am being very realistic in comparison to other Jarama's on the market - indeed this is probably among the lowest priced V12 Classic Lamborghini's out there today regardless of condition. Given the cars provenance, and that this is a running, driving UK market RHD car, this has to be an unmissable opportunity for someone.
My stock of Lamborghini spares are available to go with the car for the benefit of the new owner.
