Description
Just the same as the famous UR coupe Quattro's that now go for mega bucks, except being the rather beautiful Avant/ Estate, you get a little more room. This is the 10v model, only LHD Avant's of this period were available as a 20v option. RHD, manual, with leather & velour electric seats, electric windows, sunroof & A/ C climate control.
This particular car was also a press/ demo car owned by Audi, this is what I've been told by Audi enthusiasts due to the registration containing 'BD'.
Rescued in 2019 having been off the road & dry stored since 1999 & now around £20k spent since 2018. She was due to be completed by the time I moved from the UK to Ireland, where I am now, but she wasn't finished in time, so I left her with my garage in Sutton, Surrey, where she has remained. Christmas came & went then 'the thing' happened & everything got moth-balled.
Having spent all that I of course was looking forward to this rare & beautiful car becoming part of my little collection, but I've now too many classics on my plate & my garage need the car moved, so here we are.
They're reporting that "the car runs when the flap in the metering unit is lifted, but after a while she then cuts out". I have been offered some fix ideas & we're still looking into it. She's ready to be MOT'd & she's even got a lovely new set of high spec tyres & refurbed alloys in the correct pearl white. At some point she will need to be painted. This will be for you if you've always wanted this model but don't want to pay the earth for it, but not if you're looking for a big history file & a list of things done.
If you're interested, lets have a chat & I can arrange a visit to the garage in Sutton or a call to my mechanic Tony.
These are lovely cars, a modern feel but with massive classic charm, so please finish the rescue I started.
